How long have you been in business?
I started in 1986 in my home town of Elgin
What is your primary product or service?
Due to my training and on going training, Charles Lueck Builders services continue to expand. New Home construction, room additions or a remodeling project pose their own set of challenges that make each a thrill. Having the training and knowledge of each also allows work to remain steady as one or the other (New Homes, additions or remodeling) fluctuate. As a carpenter, these three categories are all considered as one.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
This may seem a bit unbelievable but, at the age of 11 I knew I wanted to be a builder. This really seems odd as my father worked as a postman in town and I had no contact with construction workers as a child. I truly love what I do!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
My goal is and always will be to provide you with a product that will last. I do not desire and do not have call backs to repair my work, the only reasons to come back is to say hello or do additional work for you. My contracts depict very clearly what you can expect and not expect to receive for your money. Cost is important to us all, but we also need to remember that "it's always cheaper for a reason" I have always tried to maintain a mid range cost without sacrificing the quality of the workmanship or products.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Just one in Elgin
What type of payments do you accept?
Check or cash Over the years I have not had enough call for credit cards so I have not pursued this avenue.
Which areas do you service?
All of the towns within a 1/2 hour to 45 minute radius of Elgin
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I do, Charles Lueck, I work on the job everyday, look at new work after and do my estimates in the evenings
What are your hours of operation?
We usually start around 7:00 am if allowable, finish at your site by 3:30 and sometimes later if a particular phase needs to be completed that day for the next days work. I myself will answer the phone up till 9:00 pm if I am not with a customer, but please leave a message and I will call back that day or the next.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
I could say, "your work is fantastic, good job" but to have them call me back for their next project or pass my name and number to a friend is really the best compliment. If they have done this, then I know I have fulfilled my obligations to them as promised and made their dream come true.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Psalm 139:7-10 Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there: if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
